Tonight, President Obama delivers his State of the Union message.

What do you want to hear?

What do you expect to hear regarding the Economy, Keystone Pipeline, Immigration, Tax Breaks, Health Care, Iran, Afghanistan, or Benghazi?

Former Presidential Speechwriter Peggy Noonan wrote in a Wall Street Journal Column, “ No one is really listening to the President now. He has been for five years a non-stop wind-up talk machine. Most of it has been facile, bland, the same rounded words and rounded sentiments, the same soft accusations and excuses.”

A former Clinton White House veteran argues this president is too weakened.

CNN quotes this Democrat as saying, “State of the Union means nothing. Re-read last year’s address. How relevant was it last year in terms of how 2013 turned out?”

On the other side, Paul Begala, a close adviser to former President Clinton said, “One of the greatest powers a president has is the power to set the agenda. He (Obama) will use that power to great effect in the State of the Union address.”

In my opinion, the State of the Union is never a true defining moment of an Administration, but it is a defining agenda

Failure to deliver on that agenda becomes the defining moment … and that is where the State of the Union becomes … the State of the Mess.
