Here we go again.

The latest report from the U.N. International Panel on Climate Change … claims the world is getting hotter, the seas are rising, and there’s increasing evidence that you, your family, your neighbors and all the rest of us are to blame.

The full report will be released Monday, but 95% of the climate scientists are confident … more of them than ever before … that humans are responsible for at least “half of the observed increase in global average surface temperatures since the 1950s.”

They cite that the increase in carbon dioxide concentrations is “unprecedented” compared to the last 20,000 years — and worst-case predictions are for temperatures to increase by almost 7 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100.

Of course, there are the normal predictions of ice caps melting, seas rising … but there’s also a stronger effort to tie extreme weather conditions to “global warming”.

The report claims there’s been a dramatic increase in such weather events since 1950, and a study in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society claimed significant links between global warming and extreme weather in 2012.

Last year, we saw the July heat wave in the northeastern and north-central states, the spring heat wave in the eastern U.S., the Great Plains drought, the winter drought in Spain and Portugal and the heavy rains and flooding in Europe.

All of those supposedly are linked to climate change caused by humans, and while not saying that Hurricane Sandy or the EF-5 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma are directly connected … they are still considered possible results of the overall conditions.

Of course, this is one body of “scientists”; there are many others who will disagree in part … if not total with this report.

Look, I think we do need to be better stewards of what God gave us.

We should look for ways to make sure we are not destroying our world.

The problem is .. that too often, when reports such as this are released … there’s a dramatic swing to fears of calamity and proponents rush in to force unnecessary and costly measures on us.

We also see many who are not as concerned with helping resolve issues, but rather, focused on reaping dollars generated by imposing “global warming” regulations.

You can also expect to see the Celebrity Gates of Concern to open.

Those who make movies, music or other forms of “entertainment” (and that includes politicians who see themselves as celebrities) rush to add their voices of hyped concern.

They will complain about the rest of us and our “carbon footprint” — while leaving their 60 room abodes and jetting off to Monaco for a weekend.

For them, I offer a quote from another entertainer, Steven Morrissey:
“The rhino is now more or less extinct, and it’s not because of global warming or shrinking habitats. It’s because of Beyonce’s handbags.”
