A reader called my attention to Peggy Noonan’s recent article in the Wall Street Journal.

It was titled: Privacy Isn’t All We Are Losing … The Surveillance state threatens Americans’ love of country.

Noonan is a weekly columnist for The Wall Street Journal; previously, she was primary speech writer and Special Assistant to President Reagan.

The entire column is worth reading, but I want your response on this one section.

Noonan writes: “ … too many things are happening that are making a lot of Americans feel a new distance from, a frayed affiliated with, the country they have loved for half a century and more, the country they loved without ever having to think about it…”

Do you agree with that statement?

If so, for you personally, what is creating that separation?
